The inspiration for these bands came to me while walking along a small rocky beach in Boothbay Harbor looking for treasures. I came across some small spindly coral I had never seen before, some purple, some white. The delicate beauty of these pieces called out at me to make them into jewelry. These bands are hand carved from wax and cast using the lost wax method.
This one of a kind sterling silver coral ring features an 8.9 carat iolite cabochon, set in a hand carved 18K gold bezel. Often confused with tanzanite, iolite has the same beautiful bluish purple color, but ranks higher on the hardness scale, making it more suitable for a ring. Iolite is associated with the third eye chakra, often used to strengthen intuition. It is known to treat fevers, kill bacteria, alleviate migraines, and help the sinus and respiratory system.

The band of this ring measures just over 1/4 inch wide, the bezel is 3/4″ by just over 1/2″, and the top of the iolite is 1/4″ off the finger.
