One sunny summer day while visiting North Haven, the island across the thorofare from my home island, I came upon an old rusted anchor at the local boatyard. Upon closer inspection there were three large barnacles that had apparently fallen off during it’s time sitting on the wharf. This barnacle ring was molded from one of those barnacles after several rounds of wax work, casting and molding. The shank of the ring was built from sections of the barnacle, keeping it’s intricate texture consistent throughout the entire ring. The interior of the band has been generously carved in the comfort fit style, making it very comfortable on the finger.
The shank is .4″ wide at it’s widest point.
The barnacle itself setting atop the finger is 1.2″ long by .5″ tall.
I have had this ring for a few years now, and it just gets better looking. It has a great patina, and people comment on it everytime I wear it. A real statement piece!
